Dilani Rathnayake

I have finished my B.Sc. special degree in Agricultural technology and Management from Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2016. I specialized in Soil and environment. My final year research study was related to the characterization of Biochar produced from waste materials and assessing Organic Carbon dynamics in two biochar amended soils in Sri Lanka. During my in- plant training period in Horticultural crop research and development institute, Sri Lanka I gained knowledge and experience about organic farming and green house experiments . After the graduation, before joining with Green carbon project I worked at Faculty of Agriculture, University of Peradeniya as a research assistant. There I was working about isolation and characterization of P solubilizing bacteria from rice growing soils in Sri Lanka.
Working in a Green Carbon Project as an ESR is a huge opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and experience. So as an ESR#13 I am working on Use of biomass-derived carbons (BCs) and BC-derived products for soil amendment and in soilless growing media.
